ITC unveils new coaxial connector
range aimed at European installers
Oct. 8, 2007 — The Quest
Group division ITC (Instant Tool-less Connector)
has announced the launch of a new series of coaxial
connectors designed specifically for AV installers
in Europe and other regions with the same connector
standards. ITC's patented system is said to provide
a quick and cost-effective alternative to soldering
or compression methods.
ITC says that while current
solder and compression termination systems require
multiple tools or dies to make a connection, its
solutions do not require a termination. According
to the company, the tool-less system lowers costs
by reducing termination time, complexity and failure
rate.
Other features include a captive centre pin that
securely grips onto the centre conductor using
a unique spring tension system for maximum contact
and conductivity. The toothed outer ring holds
the connector in place while spinning inside
the product to provide torsional strain relief
for increased reliability.
"Time and cost issues are major factors
for installers wherever they are in the world," said
William Low, CEO of The Quest Group. "ITC's
tool-less system reduces termination time, while
the connectors' high performance reduces failure
rates. Both of these advantages add up to significant
cost-savings for European installers."
The new series of ITC European coaxial connectors
is available in F, BNC, and RCA connector configurations
for 18-, 20- and 24-AWG coax cable. Additional
models will be available at the end of Q3.
