AudioQuest® Low-Distortion
AV Cable and ITC Tool-less Connectors to Be Utilized
in Upcoming Episode of Verizon’
“My Home 2.0”
IRVINE, Calif. — Nov.
28, 2007 — AudioQuest® and ITC, both
part of The Quest Group today announced that several of
AudioQuest’s AV cables, along with ITC instant tool-less
connectors, will be used to provide low-distortion, reliable
connectivity for a home technological makeover in an upcoming
December episode of “My Home 2.0.”
Sponsored by Verizon, “My
Home 2.0”shows families how they can realize the full
potential of technology to improve their lives. Each show
gives a technology-challenged family a complete high-tech
makeover, upgrading the family’s home with the latest
networking, home entertainment, and gaming technology and
products available — including Verizon’s innovative
FiOS services. Each house upgrade is unveiled at a communitywide
block party at which the attendees watch the live action
on a JumboTron® and enjoy other festivities.
“In the age of technology,
many still fear or reject technology,” said Yue Xu,
cohost of “My Home 2.0.” “We find many
people who consider technology confusing, complicated, and
unreliable. With ‘My Home 2.0,’ we want to show
that technology can be simple, helpful, safe, and fun. The
more you embrace it, the more it will improve your life.”
To provide low-distortion,
high-performance connectivity between the family’s
new components, several AudioQuest cables utilizing superior
metals and advanced geometry and insulation will
be used in an upcoming home makeover. The AV cables include 4.5-M
HDMI-X high-definition video/audio cables, 1-M Copperhead
analog interconnect cables, 4-M Copperhead analog interconnect
cables, 1-M VDM-X digital interconnect cables, 1-M OptiLink-G
fiber optic digital audio cables, HD6-G video cable, and
MAC3-G multiconductor audio/video cable.
In addition, “My Home
2.0” will use ITC 18N-F connectors and ITC 24N-RCA
tool-less connectors. Unlike current solder and compression
termination systems that require multiple tools, ITC connectors
do not require a tool for termination — providing
a significant benefit for residential and commercial AV
system installers. The ITC tool-less system lowers costs
by reducing termination time, complexity, and failure rate.
To ensure long-term, reliable
connections, the connectors from ITC feature a captive center
pin that securely grips onto the center conductor using a
unique spring tension system for maximum contact and conductivity.
Thus, the connectors are unique in their ability to be reused
easily.
“We are honored to have both AudioQuest AV cables and
ITC tool-less connectors featured in ‘My Home 2.0,’” said
William Low, CEO of The Quest Group. “Inferior connectivity
between these new components can lead to poor performance
or even failure. To this end, AudioQuest cables use superior
metals and materials to minimize distortion and yield clean,
crisp images and sound from high-end components. Additionally,
the ITC connector system offers a high degree of reliability
that insures that consumers will not experience downtime
waiting for repairs due to compromised connections.”
“My Home 2.0” airs
on major local network channels, FiOS TV video-on-demand,
and online at http://2pointhome.com.
